During the Hannover fair, Volkswagen first presented a model called Milano Taxi - an
electric powered prototype of a series production cab. The emission-free concept is based on
many years of experience that Volkswagen has in producing taxi cars. This electrical concept
car is meant for public city traffic and uses the front passenger seat to carry luggage
An interesting feature are touch screens both for the driver and for the passengers which allow
to see an overview of the route being taken, the duration and cost. It is also possible to pay the
fare simply by bringing a credit card near the screen.
The Milano Taxi is driven by an electric motor capable of generating a peak output of 85 kW.
Energy is provided by a lithium-ion battery integrated into the underside of the vehicle with a
storage capacity for as long as 300 kilometers' ride
